$1000.00 to Museum!

Today fifty-six students and ten adult chaperones traveled to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum to present our DVD, book, and Educator's Guide to the museum.  Aubree Poole, one of the writers in the book, gave an overview of our project and then presented the materials to Diane Saltzman, Director, Initiative on Holocaust Denial and Antisemitism.
Josh Butcher, one of the narrators of the film,  proudly gave Ms. Saltzman the check for $1000.00, which was raised from the sale of the DVD and book.
Following the presentation, students were treated to Nesse Godin, Holocaust survivor and volunteer at the museum. She shared her story of survival and why she has made it part of her life's mission to educate others about the Holocaust.  Her story can be found on the museum's website at http://www.ushmm.org.
It was a beautiful day in Washington, DC.  This is our group outside of the museum.
We were excited to have Sylvia Bonebrake, one of the survivors featured in The Glorious and the Brave, accompany us to the museum.   She is pictured here with Nesse Godin.
Verne Baker, liberator at Dachau and one of our five veterans showcased in the film, along with Sylvia Bonebrake, talk with a museum representative who asked to have copies of their memoirs to add to the museum archives of personal testimony.

Author's Fair!

On November 3rd, our book and DVD were represented at an Author's Fair in the Shippensburg, PA area. Teachers and parents from a wide variety of school districts in Cumberland and Franklin County attended.  Not only were the attendees impressed by our project, but also our fellow authors and book vendors were amazed at what our students produced.  Our Educator's Guide was appreciated by the teachers, making it easier for them to incorporate the materials in their various subject areas.
