KRISTALLNACHT EVENT 2013

On November 10th, we presented our film at the Jewish Community Center in Harrisburg, PA. as part of their annual Kristallnacht - "Night of Broken Glass" commemoration.
Casie David, one of our two narrators, along with students from the local Jewish community, introduced the program.

Over 150 people attended the screening of the film.

One of our veteran "stars' Verne Baker talked to attendees about his role in WW II as a liberator.

Ninety-three year old Yolanda Rosenschein of Hungary told the audience about her experiences during the Holocaust.
Harold Swidler, who was a child survivor from Hungary, relayed his life during the Holocaust for the first time in a public forum.
Ellie Chapman and Sylvia Bonebrake, whose stories were featured in the film, were in attendance.
Outside the venue, vintage military vehicles were on display.

Mourning the Loss of William H. Benson

WILLIAM H. BENSON
April 22, 1924 - January 11, 2014
Bill Benson was one of the five WW II veterans featured in our film and book.  We enjoyed his feisty spirit during the interview and filming process.  Viewers of the film frequently comment on his response to the question, "What made the Greatest Generation great?" His story of surviving the sinking of TWO Navy destroyers is a remarkable one.  Bill continued to serve his country and community following the war.  He was a Baltimore Police Office and remained active in the VFW, where he devoted hundreds of hours of service.  We will miss, you Bill.
